Why it matters
Kermit is the original 50th-anniversary green-bezel Submariner with a black dial. It predates the Hulk and is its own collectible, often confused for the Hulk by people new to Rolex. The black dial is the giveaway.
When you see Kermit, expect the seller to confirm the reference number and the production year. Aftermarket parts (bezel inserts especially) are common on older Subs, so ask for verification of original parts.
Common questions
- What is a Kermit Rolex?
- A Kermit is the Rolex Submariner with a green aluminum bezel and a black dial, originally released in 2003 as a 50th-anniversary edition of the Submariner line.
- Is a Kermit the same as a Hulk?
- No. A Kermit has a black dial with a green bezel. A Hulk has both a green dial and a green bezel. They're different references from different eras.
